Scuba Diver

Short on time? Get your Basic Diver certification in just a couple of days.

This is the perfect course for those who cannot complete a full Open Water Diver program. It covers about half of the complete certification — you can return and finish the second half whenever it suits you.

This certificate lets you dive under the direct supervision of a Dive Professional to a maximum depth of 12 meters worldwide. You have 6 months to upgrade to the full Open Water Diver certification, and the Scuba Diver program is fully credited toward it.

Open Water Diver

5 Dives

The Open Water Diver course is our most popular certification. A whole new world opens up for you — dive down to 18 meters, explore Okinawa’s reefs, and earn a certification that is internationally recognized by SSI, PADI, NAUI, CMAS, and more.

All training sessions take place in the water and can be completed in 2 or 3 days. If you are between 10 and 14 years old, you can earn the Open Water Junior certificate (depth limited to 12 meters for under-12s, 18 meters for older teenagers).

Already certified? The Adventure Diver program lets you sample a specialty dive without committing to a full course. For example, take the Deep Adventure dive and explore down to 30 meters with your instructor.

This course consists of 1 dive with a qualified instructor.

Advanced Open Water

The Advanced Adventurer program (Level 2) is your next step after Open Water. Try five different specialty dives — one training dive per specialty — before committing to a full course.

Diver Stress & Rescue

5 Dives

“Be prepared for those unexpected emergencies.” Stress is a major contributor to rescue situations and diving accidents. In this course, you will learn both how to prevent accidents and how to manage problem situations if they occur.

The program covers identifying and solving problems on the surface and underwater. It runs over 2 to 4 days with academic and in-water sessions in confined and open water.

Prerequisite: a valid CPR, First Aid & Oxygen Provider certificate.

Perfect Buoyancy Specialty

Want to improve your buoyancy control, minimize your air consumption, or move effortlessly above the ocean floor? The SSI Perfect Buoyancy program teaches you the skills and techniques needed to maximize your dive experience, increase your comfort in the water, and get the most from your equipment.

You will earn the SSI Perfect Buoyancy Specialty certification.

Deep Diving Specialty

3 Dives

There are many exciting dive sites in deeper water — but without proper training, they put you at risk. The SSI Deep Diving Specialty gives you the skills to safely plan and conduct dives beyond 18 meters, up to a maximum of 40 meters.

This course is also a prerequisite for many advanced SSI training programs. You will earn the SSI Deep Diving Specialty certification.

Photo & Video Specialty

The SSI Photo & Video program teaches you how to dive with an underwater camera and gives you the knowledge to use, maintain, and store your equipment properly. Our goal is to make sure you come home with stunning photos and videos.

Waves Tides & Currents Specialty

ONLINE COURSES

React Right

React Right is SSI’s emergency training program, covering: Primary Assessment, First Aid & CPR Skills, and Primary Stabilization Techniques. It also includes two optional components: Oxygen Administration in Diving Emergencies and Automated External Defibrillation (AED) basics.

Students who complete this program earn the SSI React Right specialty certification.

SSI Enriched Air Nitrox specialty course – scuba diving certification in Okinawa Japan

Enriched Air Nitrox Specialty

The SSI Enriched Air Nitrox program teaches you how to safely plan and dive with enriched air mixtures of up to 40% oxygen. Diving with enriched air can increase your no-decompression limits, improve your safety, and reduce the required length of your surface intervals.

You will earn the SSI Enriched Air Nitrox 32% or 40% certification.

Science of Diving Specialty

This program provides an in-depth study of physics, physiology, decompression theory, the aquatic environment, and diving equipment. It is required for most SSI Dive Professional programs and some Extended Range courses.

You will earn the SSI Science of Diving Specialty certification.
